VA Golf 5/7 +5

This was 35th round of the year and today was a carbon copy of yesterday, low 40’s at 7:00 am tee time. I hit an 8 iron on the first hole and it was a great shot, right at the pin, but no roll because the course was still damp. It was on the front of the green and I had 19′ putt for birdie, I hit the putt about 2′ too far and made the par. I hit a decent drive down the middle on #2, and then hit a 9 iron that stopped on the back of green. I had a 24′ put for birdie but I left it short by 3′ but I made the par. On #3, I hit an 8 iron, but it was too low to the clear the trees. I then pitched and hit the green but rolled over. I was able to put the ball on the green on my third shot, but missed the 12′ putt for bogey and ended up with a double bogey. I hit a great drive on #4, and a decent 3 wood, that left me about 45 yards out. I hit a lob wedge to 9′ and again missed the birdie. On #5, I hit a solid drive down the middle. I was about 35 yards out and hit a lob wedge, but I hit it long and right. My come back chip hung up in the fringe. My putt from the fringe was long, and then I sunk a 4′ putt for bogey. On #6, I hit a good drive in the left center of the fairway. I hit a pitching wedge that stayed on the green. I missed my 4th birdie putt and was able to two putt from 24′ for par. On #7, I hit a 7 iron that was short left. I pitched to 2 feet away and I tapped in for par. I hit a decent drive that caught the right rough, but fell back into the fairway. I hit a great lob wedge, perfect distance, but 10 yards right and it ended up in the bunker. I had a good shot out and a 7′ putt for par that I missed. I hit a good 7 iron on #9, that was short left, my pitch found the green, but it was 12′ away and I missed the putt and took a bogey.

5 pars, 3 bogeys, 1 double bogey.

4 birdie opportunities.
