Today was my 31st round of the year, and another later afternoon end of week round. The sky looked like it was going to rain, but they radar was clear. It was in the lower 80’s overcast and windy. Today was my first day with the new golf cart, and it has exceeded my expectations so far. I hit a decent 8 iron on #1 but it was short of the green. I hit a good chip and was 12′ out, and made the par. On #2, I hit a good drive right of center in the fairway. I hit a lob wedge that was just short left of the green. I putted from off the green and then tapped in for par. On #3, I hit a great 8 iron, the ended up a foot off the front of the green. I putted from the fringe from 24′ and left it short, but had a tap in par. On #4, I hit a decent drive, but pushed it left into the tall grass. I followed that was a 3 wood, that I pulled into the right rough. I had a 70 yard short at the green and left it just right of the green. I chipped on and had a 6′ putt for par that I missed leaving it just short. On #5, I hit a short drive but right down the middle. I was 75 yards from the green and dead into the wind. I hit a sand wedge, that stayed on the back of the green. I putted from 27 feet and missed it left, but tapped in for par. On #6, I hit an OK drive into the wind, but it was in the right rough. I was 90 yards out and hit a full approach wedge that hit the green. I had a 18′ putt that missed left and tapped in for par. On #7, I was dead into the wind and hit a 6 iron, that hit the green and stayed on the back fringe. I had 24′ again and hit a great putt, that was 6 inches left, and tapped in for par. On #8, I hit a short drive, right down the middle, and then a full sand wedge that stayed on the back right of the green. I had a 27′ putt, that was just left of the hole and tapped in for my 7th par. On #9, I hit a 6 iron again, but it was fat, and ended up short of the green. I hit a decent chip and had a 12′ putt for par, but left it 6 inches short and tapped in for bogey.
Great round, 7 pars, 2 bogeys. with 5 legitimate birdie putts.
