VA Golf 4/22 -1

Today was 43rd round of the year. The weather forecast was for rain all day, stating early. We teed off shortly before 7 and it was in the high 50’s. I hit s 9 iron on #1, and it was short left of the green. I was able to putt from off the green, 40′ and came up just short and tapped in for par. I hit a decent drive on #2, but was in the right rough. I hit a pitching wedge, but never got under it and it hit the green and skipped over. I was able to chip onto the green and made a 10′ putt for par. I hit a weak short shot on #3 which is now playing 140 yards with a carry over some tall trees. I was about 30 yards short and I forced myself to the hit the lob wedge, (I have been struggling with my wedge play). I almost put it in the hole in it ended up 3′ past the pin and I made the par putt. I hit a drive down the middle on #4 and followed that with a 3 wood that was in the 5th’s fairway. I again forced myself to hit a wedge, a sand wedge this time from 60 yards and it was a beautiful shot that held the green and was 12′ from the hole. I missed the birdie putt and made the par. As we walked to the 5th tee it started raining. I hit a decent drive on #5, but ended up in the bunker in front of the green. I had a good bunker short that held the green. I had a 24′ putt for birdie, that I left short and tapped in for par. I hit a good drive right down the middle on #6 and then hit a 9 iron right of the green. I putted from off the green down the slope onto the green. I ran 6′ past and I made the putt for par. I hit a good drive on #7 that was about 10 feet short of the green. I had a 57′ putt from off the green that I left 2′ short and I tapped in for birdie. I hit a great drive right down the middle on #8 and then slapped a pitching wedge onto the green and 6′ past the hole. I missed the birdie putt and tapped in for par. I headed to #9 at 1 under par and hit a 6 iron to the left on purpose to avoid the bunker on the right corner f the green. I chipped onto the green with my pitching wedge and it was 4′ short. I made the putt for par to finish at 1 under

8 pars
1 birdie
