Who could end up +8 while shooting 4 pars? Today it was this guy. This was my 17th round of the year, we had some heavy rain over night, and it was still misting this morning at 7:00 am tee off and in the high 50’s. I hit a great 9 iron on #1, the ended up pin high, but it was in the bunker on the left of the green. The sand was wet and there was no lip on the bunker, so I putted out of the bunker. It then took two putts for finish for a bogey. On #2, I hit a decent drive that was in the fairway, but my pitching wedge could not reach the green. I then chipped over the green, followed by another on the green and another 2 putt, this time for a double. I hit a good three wood on the #3, just right of the green, followed by a chip that found the green, and another 2 putt, and bogey, now +4. I hit a decent drive on #4, and then hit a decent 3 wood, leaving me 80 yards from the green. I hit a nice approach wedge, that was short of the green, but in the bunker. My bunker shot was horrible, and then up 30 yards over the green. My chip was then short, of the green, followed by another that made the green and another 2 putt, for triple bogey, +7. I hit a decent drive, on #5, followed by a wedge at the right distance, but missed the green to the left. I had a good chip and made the putt for par. I hit a good drive on #6, followed by a better 9 iron that found the green. I missed the birdie but made the par. I hit a 6 iron on #7, that was left of the green. I putted from 40′ and ended up with a tap in for another par. I hit my drive left into the trees on #8, followed by a punch 4 iron next to the green, and then chip and two putt for bogey or +8. I hit a 6 iron on #9 that made the green on the front right. I missed the birdie, but made the par to finish at +8.
