Hollywood Beach 7/4 +13 = 83

Today was my 61st round of the year, and the third round in a row I have played on this course. Day 2 and 3 have been easier, as I have used the course knowledge to get around the course. This course if 93 years old, and was famous as one time. Now it is like a local municipal course.  Still a challenging course, where water comes into play on 10 holes, plenty of bunkers throughout the course, and a difference between fairway and rough.

Today I was able to go out solo, at 6:35 am and finished 18 holes by 8:25 am. On #1 a 455 par 5, with water in front of the green, I hit 3 wood, 3 wood, to 110 yards out in the left rough. I then hit a pitching wedge to the front edge of the green. The pin was on the back and putted from 54′ and left it 5 feet short but made the putt for par. On #2, that is a 430 par 5, with water on the left. After hitting into the water on round #1,2 I hit my three wood down the right side and ended up in the middle of the fairway. I then hit another 3 wood just short of the green. I then slapped a pitching wedge to the front of the green and had a 18′ birdie putt, the missed left and I tapped in for par. On #3, where I was short left on first round and pin high bunker on the 2nd, I hit an 8 iron 5′ short of the green. I pitched a shot to 3′ away and tapped in for par. #4, is a 415 par 4, that has a creek running through the middle of the fairway. I hit a three wood that was short right on the rough. I then hit another 3 wood that in the left rough about 40 yards out. I attempted to slap a PW that was just short of the green. I putted from off the green, and went long, by 5′ but made the putt for bogey. #5 is similar to #4, with the creek running across the fairway. I hit an 5 iron to short of the creek, but in the rough. I hit a 3 wood from there that ended up pin high but was in the bunker. I was able to get out the bunker, but across the green. I missed the par putt from 18′ but made the bogey. #6 is a 345 par 4, not too much trouble. I hit a good drive in the fairway and I was 115 out. I hit a PW flush that hit the back of the green and went over (after coming up short in the bunker and taking 3 shots to get out yesterday). I was able to pitch back onto the green and had a 8′ putt for par, that I missed. On #7 that i s a 390 par 4, I hit driver down the left, that caught the long fairway bunker. I hit a 6 iron from the bunker that was just short of the green. I was able to pitch onto the green, but I missed the 9′ par putt and  made the bogey. On #8, the 160 yard par #3, I hit a 6 iron but hit it right of the green. I had to chip over the bunker, but made it, on the green and missed a 10′ putt and made the bogey. On #9, it was playing 115 yard, I hit a pitching wedge, onto the green and two putted for par.

I hit a bad drive on #10, that I got under. I then hit a 5 wood short of the green, on purpose, to avoid the bunker, left, and bunker and water right. I was able to pitch onto the green and had a 12′ putt for par that missed and tapped in for bogey. On #11, a 410 par 4, I hit another bad drive onto the right rough. I had a good 3 wood to short of the green. I was able to pitch to 10′ and missed the putt once again and tapped in for bogey. On #12, a 495 par 5, I hit a solid three wood down the right, and then hit a bad 3 wood into an unplayable trees on the right. I took a drop and hit a solid 6 iron pin high into the bunker. I was able to get out of the bunker and missed the bogey putt from 15′ and tapped in for double. On #13, par 3 playing 170 over the water, I hit a 5 iron that was just short of the green and I made a par. On #14, was playing 175 and had given me trouble two days in a row, I hit another 5 iron that was 12′ from the pin. I missed the birdie, but made the par. #15, is a 325 par 4 that has water about 220 out. I hit a 6 iron and then a 7 iron that ended up in the sand. I was able to get out and missed the par putt, but made the bogey. On #16, that is a 345 yard par 4 with a fairway bunker and bunkers, on both side of the green. I pushed my 3 wood in the rough and then hit a 6 iron into the right bunker. It took me two to get out of the bunker, and I two putted for bogey. I hit a decent drive on #17, that is a 430 yard par 4, that ended up in the left rough. I hit a 3 wood to almost pin high, but 30 yard right of the green. I tired to pitch on the green, but came up short, my second pitch was 8′ away and made the putt for bogey. On #18 a 415 par 4, I hit 3 wood, 3 wood to pin high right of the green, I pitched out of the bunker to 3′ and made the par putt.
